Two voices, a fiddle and a banjo: Hills of Belgium goes straight to the heart.

Inspired by American music, Lorcan Fahy and Jérémie Fraboni explore its roots and weave them into their own musical language.

Born at the table of an old Brussels café, the duo creates and reshapes a folk music that is both vulnerable and alive, reinventing itself with every note.

After two EPs, a hundred shows across Europe and a trip to the Appalachian Mountains, the duo released their debut album in Fall 2024, Come on Buddy Don’t You Want to Go. Blending traditional and original songs, it draws on influences ranging from Burnett & Rutherford to Nora Brown & Stephanie Coleman.

Sometimes joined by guest musicians on brass and drums, Hills of Belgium bring a personal take on old-time music — rooted in Appalachian tradition but shaped by a European perspective.

Their folk roots are clearly evident in every note and nuance, somewhat sparingly performed and yet shared with a full finesse found within the context of archival instrumentation.” – Lee Zimmerman, Bluegrass Today

“Intriguing and highly listenable.” -Tim Martin, Americana UK
